Divisions
The Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services is proud to serve the citizens of Gwinnett County. Gwinnett is the largest fire service district in Georgia and protects over 960,000 people within the 437 square miles of the county. The department is divided into four divisions that effectively allow the men and women of the department to serve the citizens of the county:
Business Services develops and coordinates the budget of the department, including emergency medical transport billing, logistics, resources, apparatus, payroll and facilities management.
Employee Support and Training oversees recruiting, hiring, position management, personnel actions, employee records, statistical reports, department and community initiatives, and the Training Academy.
Community Risk Reduction is charged with fire inspections, education, investigations, and all code-related topics within the business community of the county.
Operations is charged with daily operations of all County fire stations. The division is responsible for all fire and emergency calls throughout the county.
The mission of the department is to save lives and protect property while delivering the highest quality of service by holding the principles of truth, trust, respect, and unity as the core values that shape the department.
