ADOPT A SHELTER PET!
Gear up for some tail-wagging fun at the Shelter Pets Rock event on Saturday, October 19 at the Bill Atkinson Animal Welfare Center, and enjoy a day of free pet adoptions from 11:00am to 4:00pm with family-friendly activities, music, local vendors, and more!
Please follow directional signage for parking.
Before committing to lifelong care of a pet, potential adopters are encouraged to consider the type of pet that best suits their family. Responsible pet owners provide appropriate food, water, shelter, and medical care as well as companionship, exercise, and a happy living environment.
Pet owners should also read and follow the Gwinnett County Animal Ordinances.
There are no holds for any animal at any time. Residents must be at least 18 years old to adopt. Remember to bring a leash and collar or a cat carrier.
Interested in fostering a shelter pet? Email AnimalFoster@GwinnettCounty.com or call 678.226.7225 to learn about our foster program.
Shelter Pets
Animals posted on the website represent those that are stray, found, and animals that may be available for adoption. To give owners time to reunite with their pets, animals are rarely available for adoption when they first arrive.
Photos of injured animals are not posted on the website due to their graphic nature. If you have lost a pet and do not see it among the shelter pets, call 770.339.3200 and provide a description of the pet and the location where the pet was last seen. Our Customer Service Representatives can provide information for pets at the shelter matching your description.
Click "view details" on potential pets to find the Available Date for adoption. Dates available for adoption are subject to change.
